Localytics is a marketing and analytics platform for mobile and web apps. Localytics app analytics provide cohort-based retention analysis, funnels, customer segmentation, and real-time analyses to uncover groups of users with the highest loyalty rates and lifetime value. Localytics app marketing brings marketing automation services to apps by tracking the long-term success of customer acquisition campaigns and delivering rich and actionable in-app and push messages to relevant customers when they can have the greatest impact.
Our integration with Localytics allows you to use their post-acquisition analytics and marketing tools to provide extra context into the acquisition data provided by Attribution Analytics. This article outlines how to send attributed install information from our platform to theirs so it can be incorporated into their downstream analytics. As with our other integrations, you will need both the Attribution Analytics and Localytics SDK’s in your app.
The integration works by notifying Localytics of installs via their API. To so do, first enable the “Third-party Attribution” option in your Localytics platform, then set up a postback URL in your Attribution Analytics account for your mobile app. Note: If you have multiple mobile apps for which you’d like to set up this integration, follow these steps for each one of your mobile apps individually.
Enabling the Attribution Analytics Integration in Localytics
Before you can send Attribution Analytics attribution information to Localytics, you must enable this ability within your Localytics account. To do so, login to your Localytics account at https://dashboard.localytics.com/
Navigate to the Attribution Dashboard and select the app to enable integration.
Then, navigate to the Attribution Settings page:
The Attribution Settings page will display your app’s Localytics Attribution ID. Copy this ID to your clipboard — TUNE will use this Attribution ID to identify your app to send attribution postbacks to Localytics.
Sending Install Notifications
Sending attribution information for installs is a very important part of achieving a more granular analysis from Localytics. To send attribution information to Localytics, set up a postback URL in Attribution Analytics that sends information about each install.
Setting up the Integrated Advertising Partner
- Login to Attribution Analytics.
- In the navigation (on the left side), under the Partners section, click Integrations.
- On the Integrated Partners page (on the right side), search for Localytics.
- After locating your partner, click Setup for that partner (in the far-right column).

2. On the Add Postback URL page, make your desired selections from the drop-down lists as shown in the following screenshot.
3. In the Customize Template Parameters box, enter the Attribution ID from your Localytics Dashboard for your account.
4. Make sure the postback is set to send “All” Data.
After the postback URL is launched, Attribution Analytics will start notifying Localytics of all installs related to your app.
Localytics Reporting with Attribution Analytics Data
After you have the postback URL set up to send attribution information from Attribution Analytics to Localytics, you will be able to view your mobile app install data in their platform and use their post-acquisition analytics and marketing tools.
Here, you can see how to view users by day split by campaign, filtered to just new users to see which campaigns are driving the most new user growth. “Source” and “Campaign” are available as Dimensions for Columns, Spliting, and Filtering in practically every report of the Localytics Dashboard, including Cohorts, Events, Funnels, Engagement, and Monetize, so you can flexibly view the long-term performance of users from each campaign and acquisition source.
